No Outdoor Hike Week

Cubs,

I was thinking for this week's meeting we should go for a long hike through deep snow at very low temperatures with no chance of hot chocolate. Unfortunately, I spent the weekend shoveling and pushing cars out of snow banks and I am now looking forward to a warm indoor meeting.

We will continue with our Purple Star requirements as well as do some badge testing. If there is any badge that you want to test for please let me know.

First Meeting of 2011

Welcome back Cubs. I hope everyone has had a great holiday break and is ready for fun in the Jungle. We will be meeting at the Parkallen School Gym at 6:30 PM this January 5th.

The month of January is "Bring a Friend Month". If you know of any of your friends that might be interested in Beavers please bring them out and earn a badge.

2010 Year End Holiday Party

Well, that's it. We are officially done the first half of our scouting year. Before we break for the holidays we will be having our annual party and breaking of the pinata. We will be meeting at the Evangelical Fellowship Church Basement (79 Ave & 105 Street) on December 8th starting at 6:30 PM.

Hope to see you all there. We will be meeting again on January 5th, 2011 at the Parkallen School Gym.

Dec 1st Tobogganing

Cubs,

Since the weather is getting warmer we will be meeting at the Millwoods Park (2730 - 66 Street) at 6:30 PM on December 1st, for some tobogganing fun. Please dress for the weather and bring a helmet. See all you there.

Cub Swim

Hey there Cubs!

This Wednesday we will be going swimming at Scona Pool (10450 72 Avenue, shares a common entrance with Strathcona High School). We will meet at the pool entrance (inside Scona High School and downstairs) at 6:30pm. Parents are welcome to join us at a cost of $5.50.

Last Meeting at the School

This is our last regular meeting at the Parkallen School for 2010. We are still meeting every Wednesday away from the School until December 8th.

The Cubs will be working on the Hiking Badge this week. To earn this badge you first must pass Rikki's hiking course. Please dress for the weather.

Remembrance Day

Since we will be participating in the Remembrance Day Parade at the U of A Butterdome we will not be meeting on Wednesday this week.
